Under the aegis of the Lord Mayor of Kaduwela Division, a home grower awareness programme was held at 9.30 a.m. on 7^th August 2019 at the Robert Gunawardana Memorial Hall of the Kaduwela Municipal Council. 300 residents in 57 wards within the Kaduwela Municipal Council limits participated in the programme, in which distribution of various types of seeds for home cultivation was also carried out. Arrangements will be made to provide them with agricultural implements will also be done in due course.

Mr. Thilak Kariyawasam, Chairman of the Organic Agriculture Project delivered the keynote address at the programme.  The main objective of this programme was to promote home cultivation. A home cultivation competition is also scheduled to be conducted.
